Sweet lassi is a yogurt or curd based beverage. Sweet lassi is creamy, sweetened and chilled beverage mainly from Punjabi cuisine.

Lassi is a cooling, refreshing, probiotic drink made from curd or yogurt. Lassi is of two types mainly sweet and salt. With the new inventions and creativity in recipes, different varieties of lassi are available in markets. Like Mango lassi, chocolate lassi, mint lassi and the names keep going. It is usually served after any meal (lunch or dinner) as a coolant in the hot summer afternoons.
I have a sweet memory from my childhood, during summer holidays we used to go to our native place #Nellore. There is a small food joint in our native serves the best sweet lassi recipe. We used to have it everyday during our stay in Nellore. The vendor used to decorate it with a thick cream and plenty of dry fruits on top of it. But in the present recipe I am not adding any cream.
Curd or yogurt is the key ingredient in lassi and so the whole taste depends on it. I normally make curd at home and use it. I make sure that it doesn’t taste sour to make the perfect lassi. If the curd is sour we have to add more sweetener.
Health benefits of Curd:
Curd is good for health. Curd is a pro-biotic rich food. It helps in digestion, makes bones and teeth strong. Curd can help the body to absorb nutrients from other foods more efficiently.
