Ingredients
- 4 Large Tomatoes
- Salt – to taste
- 1 tsp Red Chilli powder
- 1 tsp Black Pepper Powder
- 1/4 tsp Turmeric Powder
- 3 tbsp Sugar
Ingredients for Tadka
- 1 tsp Ghee
- 1 tsp Mustard Seeds
- 1 tsp Cumin Seeds
- 4 to 6 Curry Leaves
- Fistful Coriander Leaves
- 1 Red Chillies
Instructions
- In a thick bottomed pan add water till the tomatoes cover.
- Allow them to boil till the tomatoes become soft.
- Blanch tomatoes. Allow them to cool.
- Remove the skin and squeeze them and grind them into juice.
- Sieve the juice. Add water to it.
- Add turmeric powder, salt, red chili powder, sugar and black pepper powder.
- Allow this to boil for 5 to 7 minutes.
- Heat ghee in a pan add mustard seeds, cumin seeds, and red chillies.
- Add fresh curry leaves and coriander leaves.
- Once they start spluttering add this tadka to the above boiling soup.
- Serve hot tomato soup with hot piping rice and vangi bath.
