Onion Palak Recipe | How to make Onion Palak Curry
Ingredients
- 3 cups Palak
- 2 onion
- 1/2 tbsp Coriander Seeds
- 1/2 tbsp Cumin Seeds
- 1 tsp Chana Dal
- 1 tsp Red Chilli Powder
- 5 to 7 Curry Leaves
- 6 Garlic
Instructions
- Chop palak, wash thoroughly.
- Slice onions.
- Heat oil in a kadai, add onions, garlic and sauté them till the onions translucent.
- Add chana dal, cumin seeds and coriander seeds.
- Fry them well and add curry leaves.
- Keep them aside and let it cool.
- Once they all cooled completely blend it in a blender.
- Make coarse paste out of it.
- Add red chilli powder, and salt. Blend them again to make paste.
- If mortar and pastle is used, it would be more tasty.
- Again heat oil in a kadai, add cumin seeds and curry leaves.
- Once they start spluttering add washed palak.
- Sauté well. Add turmeric powder.
- Cover and cook palak well.
- Once the palak cooked well and the water present in it absorbed.
- Add the above made paste and combine it well.
- Let it cook for 5 minutes. Transfer the curry into serving bowl.
- Serve onion palak masala curry with roti.
