Chop palak, wash thoroughly.
Slice onions.
Heat oil in a kadai, add onions, garlic and sauté them till the onions translucent.
Add chana dal, cumin seeds and coriander seeds.
Fry them well and add curry leaves.
Keep them aside and let it cool.
Once they all cooled completely blend it in a blender.
Make coarse paste out of it.
Add red chilli powder, and salt. Blend them again to make paste.
If mortar and pastle is used, it would be more tasty.
Again heat oil in a kadai, add cumin seeds and curry leaves.
Once they start spluttering add washed palak.
Sauté well. Add turmeric powder.
Cover and cook palak well.
Once the palak cooked well and the water present in it absorbed.
Add the above made paste and combine it well.
Let it cook for 5 minutes. Transfer the curry into serving bowl.
Serve onion palak masala curry with roti.
