Instant set dosa | How to make instant set dosa. Instant Set Dosa Recipe for Quick Breakfast. Set dosa is a breakfast recipe from South Indian cuisine. Fluffy and soft pancakes served with spicy chutney makes the breakfast filling.

Set dosa needs fermentation of the batter for at lease 8 to 10 hours. But, instant set dosa needs no fermentation and it’s a quick recipe too. I found this as the best recipe I made recently.

Sometimes we may not get time to soak and ferment dosa batter. During such times we can prepare we can prepare this quick set dosa recipe. The measurements mentioned here makes 12 to 18 dosas, increase or decrease the quantities as per the requirement.

Key ingredients of instant set dosa:

  • Poha or Flatten rice: We use thick or thin poha for set dosa. The dosa would be soft and fluffy inside.
  • Suji/Semolina: Double the quantity of poha. The outer texture should be crunchy, so use suji.
  • Curd: I always prefer to use sour curd, this would make the dosas fluffy as well as lots of wholes would appear.
  • Salt: Add salt as per our requirement.
  • Eno fruit salt: This would gives dosas a nice texture.

Instant set dosa batter can be stored for 2 or 3 days. Serve set dosa with any spicy chutney like onion chutney, ground nut chutney. Some people serve it with sambar too, that is ones choice. It is filling and kicks your day without any problems.

Normally set dosa is cooked only one side, but I prefer to cook on both sided. Cooking on both sides the dosa looks nice and I feel it is cooked completely. Otherwise the dosa stick to the upper part of the teeth line.

Learn how to make instant set dosa (sponge dosa) using rava/semolina. Get the secret to perfectly soft, spongy dosas without fermentation. A fast, authentic South Indian breakfast idea!

Ingredients
  

  • 1 & 1/2 Cup Poha/Flatten Rice/Aval
  • 3 Cups Sooji/Semolina/Upma Rawa
  • 1 & 1/2 Cup Curd
  • Salt to Taste
  • 1 Tsp Eno fruitsalt

Instructions
 

  • In a large bowl take poha and sooji.
  • Mix them well and add curd.
  • Mix it well and soak this for half an hour.
  • After half an hour, grind all of them into a smooth batter.
  • While grinding add water as per the requirement.
  • Do not add more water. The batter should be like that of dosa batter.
  • It can be a bit thicker also.
  • Add salt and mix it well.
  • Just before making dosas add ENO fruitsalt. Mix it well.
  • Heat dosa pan, pour a laddlefull of batter.
  • Do not spread the dosa.
  • Allow this to cook for a minute.
  • Sprinkle a spoonfull of oil over the dosa.
  • Cook for a minute and flip set dosa.
  • Cook for another minute and serve it.
  • Serve hot instant set dosa with any spicy chutney.
