Ingredients
  

  • 8 slices Bread milk/sandwich
  • 2 cups Sugar
  • 5 tbsp Ghee
  • 2 cups Milk
  • 1 tbsp Cashew nuts
  • 1 tbsp Pista
  • 1 tbsp Almonds
  • 1/2 tbsp Kismis
  • 1/4 tsp Cardamom powder

Instructions
 

  • Cut sides of the bread slice
  • Allow the bread to dry for 2 to 4 hours.
  • Heat ghee in a kadai.
  • Fry cashew nuts, almonds, pistachios and kismiss.
  • Keep them aside.
  • Again heat ghee in the same kadai.
  • Add bread pieces. Fry them till they turn brown and crisp.
  • Fry them in batches, and keep them aside.
  • Boil milk in a thick bottom pan till they become half or less than it
  • Add 2 cups of sugar and 2 cups of water in a thick bottom pan.
  • Let the sugar melts completley.
  • Let it boil and become sticky.
  • Add cardamom powder and switch off the flame.
  • Switch off the flame and let the sugar syrup settles for a minute.
  • Slowly add fried bread pieces into it.
  • Add fried nuts also.
  • Gently mix it well.
  • Let the bread absorb the sugar syrup.
  • Lastly add 1 cup of milk and mix well.
  • Serve warm, chill or hot double ka meetha.
