Pachi pulusu is mainly a summer dish in Telugu states of India. Unlike regular pulusu, pachi pulusu is an uncooked version of the tamarind soup. It is light watery and thin soup. It has tangy, sweet and spicy taste.

Pachi pulusu is made with tamarind, onions, chillies and jaggery. Adding other seasonings like garlic, coriander powder etc. are depending on our taste buds. During summers we get mangoes abundantly so we can replace tamarind with mangoes too.
The natural cooling properties of tamarind and jaggery in the pachi pulusu are believed to help in digestion and provide relief during hot summer. It is served along with muda pappu or plain dal. Pachi pulusu can be enjoyed directly as a beverage too.
