Pressure cook rice with 2 cups of water, for 1 cup rice add 2 cups water, with 3 whistles.
Allow the rice to cool down once the cooker gets cool.
Cut potatoes into byte size pieces and pressure cook them also for 1 or 2 whistles.
Heat oil in a kadai, fry cooked potatoes till they are crisp.
Fry them in batches so that they would fry crisp and won't turn mushy.
Keep them aside.
Again heat oil in a kadai, add sliced onions and fry them till they turn translucent.
Add ginger garlic paste and fry again.
Add salt and turmeric powder. Combine them well with the onions.
Add chilli powder, coriander powder and garam masala. Fry them well till the oil separates.
Add fried potatoes and rice. Combine them well and Switch off the flame.
Just before transferring into the serving bowl sprinkle lemon juice and mix it well.
Serve potato rice with plain curd.
