Heat 1/2 tsp oil in a pan.
Add urad dal and fry till they change colour.
Once urad dal started changing colour add chana dal and saute them together.
Transfer them to a plate and keep them aside.
Again heat 1/2 tsp oil and add cumin seeds.
As they start crackling add red chillis and tamarind.
Lastly add garlic and saute them again.
Keep them aside to cool.
Clean the kadai and add flax seeds and dry roast them.
Roast them till they crackle.
Keep them aside to cool.
In a blender jar add red chillis, tamarind and dals.
Do not add garlic and salt here.
Blend them coarsly.
Add flax seeds and again blend them.
Add garlic and blend once again.
Lastly add salt and combine all of them once again.
Serve spicy and delicious flaxseed powder with hot piping rice and a spoonful of ghee.
