Pulusu Atukulu Recipe

Ingredients

4 cups Poha/Atukulu Lemon size Tamarind Salt to taste 1 tsp turmeric powder 1 tsp Asafoetida 1 tsp Jaggery 2 tbsp Peanuts 1 tbsp chana dal 1 tbsp urad dal 1/2 tbsp mustard seeds 1/2 tbsp cumin seeds 4 red chillis 4 green chillis 3" long Ginger

Step 1

Soak tamarind for half an hour

Step 2

Heat oil in a kadai, add peanuts, chana dal and urad dal.

Step 3

let the dals and nuts change their colour

Step 4

add mustard, cumin along with whole red chillis.

Step 5

When the mustard seeds starts spluttering add curry leaves, slit green chillis and chopped ginger

Step 6

Add turmeric powder, salt and asafoetida along with tamarind juice.

Step 7

Allow the tadka and tamarind juice cook till it turns into a paste

Step 8

wash poha under running water. 

Step 9

Add the cooked tadka to the poha and mix it well.
